Telstra Football Anytime

Background

Telstra Football Anytime (TFA) is the official club based introductory program of Football Federation Australia and is proudly supported by Telstra and the Australian Sports Commission.

In excess of 10,000 children have been through the program since it’s inception in February 2006.

This program caters for both children that have never played before and those in their initial playing years looking to enhance their football experience.

What is Telstra Football Anytime?

TFA is a six session program with each session lasting 75 minutes. TFA will now be offered in two formats of which a club can choose to conduct either format depending upon their individual needs.

These programs can be conducted over a six week period or condensed into a school holiday program in the pre-season or any time during the year. One of the real features of TFA is it’s flexibility in terms of when it can be delivered.

The program costs $66 (inc.GST) per child; this includes the six sessions with children also receiving their very own equipment back pack which contains a Nike football, shin pads, markers, drink bottle and squeezy mini football.

Who Is The TFA Program Aimed Towards?

5 – 8 Year Boys & Girls Program

This program caters for both children that have never played before and those in their initial playing years looking to enhance their football experience. TFA is a perfect small sided games based training program that can be conducted by clubs at anytime throughout the year. TFA features age appropriate groups rotating through a tabloid of modified skill activities and small sided games. The program is organised and conducted by a Head Coach with a minimum Youth License accreditation who is reimbursed by FFA. TFA also gives Volunteer Program Supervisors the opportunity to work under the direction of the Head Coach to deliver the program on a 1 to 10 ratio with the children. Importantly, these volunteers will receive a Grassroots Coaching Certificate (and accompanying resource) if they commit to assisting at all six sessions of the program.

Register online now for the next program at Greenbank.

6 x Tuesday weekly sessions commencing Tuesday, 21st October (6:00pm -> 7:15pm).

Registrations close Tuesday, 14 October.

5 – 12 Year Girls Only Program

This program caters for both girls that have never played before and those in their initial playing years looking to enhance their football experience. TFA is a perfect small sided games based training program that can be conducted by clubs at anytime throughout the year. The age limit has been increased to allow clubs and teams who cater specifically for girls the opportunity to use this program as a recruitment and training tool.

How Our Club Benefits By Conducting A TFA Program

  • A valuable and enjoyable introduction to football, specifically small-sided games, for children, parents and volunteers new to the game
  • Receive and keep the equipment to conduct the program
  • Priority to receive the Telstra Football Assistance Fund equipment grant
  • Conduct an affordable club based program with an excellent equipment pack for each child
  • Experienced Head Coach to conduct the program
  • Recruit and train Volunteer Program Supervisors from existing coaches, parents and players
  • Volunteer Program Supervisors receive Grassroots Football Certificate, shirt and program resource
  • Increase community exposure through local media and website promotion of the program
  • Develop and maintain strong links to local schools through promoting the program
  • The chance to participate in on ground displays at Qantas Socceroos, Matildas or Hyundai A-League matches

What FFA Will Provide Us With

  • Flyers for the club to distribute through club members and local schools
  • PDF format of registration flyer to be emailed throughout club contacts and players
  • School newsletter notice to be forwarded to local schools
  • A media release and pictures for our club to contact local newspapers, media and post on the club website
  • Program administration including accepting and processing registrations and enquiries either on line, by post or phone
  • Head Coach and Volunteer Program Supervisors paperwork and the TFA Program Resource
  • In the week prior to the program FFA will send our club the equipment, TFA packs, coach clothing and the attendance register

The Role Of Our Club In TFA

  • Confirm type of program, format, dates and venue (minimum 6 weeks prior to commencement of program)
  • Identify suitable Head Coach to organise and conduct program. FFA will supply this position on our behalf if we can't
  • Identify suitable Volunteer Program Supervisors; e.g. club coaches, managers, parents, senior & junior players on a 1 to 10 ratio with children (we will start by confirming a minimum of 5 Volunteer Supervisors to cater for up to 50 children)
  • Conduct program

Our Club's Free Equipment

For each program, the registration closing date will be 10 working days before the commencement of the program. The amount of equipment our club will be sent to conduct the program and to retain will be based on the number of children registered at this time. For every 10 children that register in the program our club will receive 5 balls, 10 markers & 5 bibs.
