Greenbank Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of former Ipswich Knights head coach Ian CARSON to the post of coach of its senior Mens team for the Football Brisbane 2012 season.
Greenbank Football Club will be competing in the Football Brisbane 2012 Metro 1 competition and with Mr CARSON at the helm big things are expected.
Greenbank Football Club President Anthony PHUNG stated that the vibe at the club was positive after the appointment.
"Ian is a fantastic coach with a great footballing pedigree. His resumé is second to none and Greenbank Football Club has really caused a coup landing Ian."
Greenbank had a magnificent 2011 season with two of its senior teams - the Mens Metro 3 and Womens Division 7 teams, taking out the Minor and Major premierships. A third team - the Mens Metro 6 - won their grand final.
Mr Carson takes over from previous coach Colin MANNING, who has decided to take a step back from the rigours of senior coaching.
Mr PHUNG said …
"Colin has done a fantastic job for our club and certainly without his contribution the club could not have progressed as rapidly as it has.
There will always be a spot made available at Greenbank Football Club for Colin such is the respect we hold for him."
Mr CARSON will take over the senior team just before the new year.
Mr CARSON this year coached Ipswich Knights to near promotion in the Brisbane Premier League Division One, eventually finishing third behind traditional powerhouses Queensland Lions and North Star.
