We are hosting an Optus SSF and a "6-a-side" Competition for all other age groups over 10 Friday nights from 5:30pm - starting Friday, 9th October and finishing on Friday, 11th December, 2009. Note: The 5:30pm starting time may be inconvenient for some teams. Game starting times are "flexible" and once team nominations are closed we will liaise with all Team managers prior to the start of the competition to endeavour to have a draw (subject to field availability) which suits everyone.The Cost & RewardsPricing is $4 per player per game. All competitors will receive a trophy at presentation ceremony after final game on Friday, 11th December. Team & Field SizesThe following age groups:-
will be playing with normal size teams, on the correct field size for Optus SSF games, and normal rules will apply. The "6-a-side" teams:-
will play 2 x 30 minute halves with a 5 minute half time break on a half sized field (roughly 70m x 50m). Apart from reduced numbers of players and smaller field sizes, normal FFA rules will apply and there will be a goalie. Note: All players must be registered with Football Brisbane (as FQ insurance is valid until 31st Dec 2009, and therefore covers them for this competition).New (unregistered) players can still be signed up at a cost of:-
It is hoped that teams will play in their normal club's uniform, however if you can't or your team comprises players from various clubs, we will provide your team with red or white "bibs". General InformationFull canteen facilities will be available. As per Football Brisbane, the Optus SSF games will run according to the "Small Sided Football" format - no scoring, no finals - it will be just a great Summer season of Football!
